Interview with Michelle Lane - Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist

This week I sat down with Michelle Lane, NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Personal Trainer specializing in women's fitness and a Corrective Exercise Specialist. She trains at Summit Fitness, a private gym she owns in Covina, California. She's also a former trumpet player I met in my undergrad who was working in tv show house band before making the switch to training full time.

Michelle offered a lot of insight into the physicality of playing, the dangers of the chair and the importance of balance in training and life. You can listen to her podcast now on Soundcloud (while I patiently wait for the iTunes approval...)

I have to be honest that this week's recording was technically challenging and it caused a little delay in getting the final product to you. I hope next weeks recording is much smoother and to get the information to you in a timely manner while still delivering on professional quality. Check out the links below for information from the podcast.

For a quick overview on why cross-training and balance are so important to musicians and how to get started, you can check out my blog from Monday. Remember, our bodies should never limit our art so train like an athlete to play like a musician!

Health and happiness,
